D.Ed

Even though often less acknowledged, the importance of a good teacher is enormous in a country like India. They play a vital role in the overall development of the students. The importance of teachers is especially enormous in the tender aged students.
Therefore training the teachers adequately is very important and over the years various institutes providing teachers training courses have come up in different parts of the country. The primary teachers and secondary teachers need to take up different teachers training courses as the needs of the primarly students and the secondary students are different. Thus there are different teacher's training institutes that offer Diploma in Education (D.Ed), Primary Teachers Training (PTT), Basic Training Certificate (BTC), Junior Basic Training (JBT)), Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) and other teacher's training courses.

As elementary education plays a very important role in a person’s life and also in the development of the nation the need to train the teachers is increasingly been realized. In India there are different institutes that provide Diploma in Education, D.Ed. This diploma in education would help the teachers in developing the cognitive skills and also in taking care of the emotional needs of the students. The diploma in education or D.Ed. is gaining popularity as various states have made it compulsory to have D.Ed to be eligible for appointment as teachers.


Eligibility :

  • Candidate with at least 50% marks in the senior secondary examination (+2) or its equivalent are eligible for admission.
  • The reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government, whichever is applicable. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/OBC and other categories of candidates.


Admission Procedure :


Admission shall be made on merit on the basis of marks obtain in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government / UT Administration.
